With over 30 years of experience, it’s axiomatic that Bill Dew can handle art direction and management of the design process from research, strategy and conceptual development to implementation, brand guardianship and client liaison. Just like every other self-aggrandising ‘creative’ with a jargon-laden website, then…?

Perhaps not. Black Limelight is not a pseudo-agency. It’s a ‘one man and his mouse’ micro-business, as flawed and occasionally faltering as its founder. It offers all of the above, of course, in a variety of eye-catching idioms – and with a dash of sardonic wit borne of the struggle for survival in a world of unequal outcomes.

It also values difference and idiosyncrasy, presenting yours in the best light possible. Empathetic intelligence is the starting point, here. It’s not afraid of ‘getting it wrong’, en route to getting it right. That’s an infrequently celebrated reality of the ‘design process’.

Above all, it aims to provide thoughtful and thought-provoking innovation, in line with budgetary constraints and with a particular focus on SMEs, charities and community organisations. (Record labels, self-publishers and e-commerce entrepreneurs are welcome too, of course… good design speaks volumes and sells units).
